Dental Update for the General Practitioner
Young Harris, GA •Friday, October 9, 2015, 7:15 a.m. - Sunday, October 11, 2015, 12 p.m.
A note from the course director…Crisp air, changing leaves, golf, horseback riding, hiking, vineyards… and dentistry! Once again, the College of Dental Medicine presents speakers on a variety of topics affecting the provision of dental care by dental professionals in a beautiful autumnal setting in the North Georgia Mountains.
Dr. Scott De Rossi returns again this year and will provide a pharmacology update on the variety of oral anticoagulants our patients are taking. Continuing with the pharmacology theme, I will lecture later in the weekend on the Beers criteria, which was just updated in 2015 and will be a great review of those medications to avoid in our geriatric population.
I am thrilled to welcome a pair of superstars from the College of Dental Medicine: Dr. Kobi Stern and Dr. Jerry Cooper. This duo will each speak separately on their respective specialties – Dr. Stern on periodontitis/peri-implantitis, and Dr. Cooper on advanced restorative dentistry and esthetics. They will also spend the Saturday session giving a joint lecture focusing on managing complex cases with periodontal and esthetic challenges by interdisciplinary care.
I am excited to offer another “non-dental” event this year: a hayride! We will take in the gorgeous scenery of the mountains during the most picturesque time of year right on the Brasstown Valley Resort property. What a great way to start a Saturday evening!
Whether this is your first year attending the course, or you have been coming for years, there is no doubt that you will enjoy both the presentations offered by our speakers and also the gorgeous setting at Brasstown Valley Resort.
